PART 2

  1. Use Mineral-based Sunscreen.

Sun protection with mineral based Zinc oxide and Titanium dioxide providing the skin with a high level of protection against UVA, UVB and free radicals. Mineral based products usually don’t have preservatives.

  •  Don’t ignore diet supplements.

Vitamins, minerals, herbals and enzymes will rejuvenate your skin because of their sheer nutrients. They will give a healthy glow to the skin and help to moisturize and fight skin-aging.

  •  Take Tepid showers, not hot ones!

Hot showers bring blood circulation to the skin thus removing too many natural oils. This can lead to rashes or even aggravate eczema or dry patches.

Hot water can also cause spider veins. If you’ve been in the sun for a long time and you take a hot shower it will dry out your skin. Excessive sweating can also lead to acne breakouts.

  •  Give Retinol a try if your skin isn’t too sensitive.

Retinol, Vitamin A, lighten dark spots, sun spots, age spots and prevent skin aging by helping build collagen. Overnight retinol repair is an example of topical retinol cream that dramatically reduce the appearance of skin aging. Look for creams that have Vitamin A in them.

  •  Exfoliate – it’s a must.

Peeling your skin twice to three times maximum a week is essential. Exfoliating removes dead skin cells and excess oils which can clog pores and lead to breakouts. Avoid harsh beady scrubs which can irritate and even scarring the skin. Exfoliate gently.

  •  Don’t underestimate Antioxidants.

Oxidative stress caused by free radicals can be reduced with antioxidants. Antioxidants are food for the skin. They fight aging and limit the production of free radicals by neutralising them. The most common free radicals affecting the skin are ultraviolet radiation, pollution and other environmental stressors.

  •  Proper cleansers are a great way to clean the skin.

Soap-free cleansers thoroughly removes impurities without disturbing the skin’s natural moisture balance. But you must remember to moisturize your skin according your skin type to protect and hydrate the skin, helping to restore suppleness and tone.

  •  Keep your dermatologist and skin therapist appointments.

It is imperative to visit your skin therapist at least three times a year. Dermatologists are also important because they can detect and diagnose skin problems.
